Terms of Service

1. What Coverwright is
Coverwright generates security documentation — an information security policy, incident response plan, and (on the Complete tier) a vendor responsibility matrix — from the answers you give to a 20-question intake. Clause selection runs through a deterministic rules engine, not an AI making judgment calls; the same answers always produce the same documents.
Coverwright is not a law firm, insurance broker, or compliance auditor. The documents are informational and reflect what you told us about your business — they are not legal advice, not insurance advice, and not a guarantee that any insurer or client will accept them.
2. Accuracy of your answers
The documents can only be as honest as your intake answers. Where you tell us a control isn't in place, the documents say so and include a remediation clause rather than a false claim — that honesty only works if your answers are accurate. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter.
3. Accounts
Creating an account (via email link or Google, through Clerk) is optional. You can complete a purchase without one; without an account, you won't be able to view past purchases on /dashboard later, so keep your downloaded files.
4. Payment
Each document set is a one-time payment, processed by Stripe. Coverwright never receives or stores your full card details. See our refund policy for what happens if something goes wrong with a purchase.
5. Your rights to the documents
The clause library, generation logic, and document designs are ours and remain ours. On purchase, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, reproduce, and adapt your generated documents for your own business, and to share them with your insurers, clients, auditors, advisers, and counterparties. You may not resell, publish, or redistribute the documents or the underlying clause content as templates or as a competing product.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't misrepresent who you are when answering the intake.
- Don't resell or redistribute generated documents as a competing document-generation service without our written agreement.
- Don't attempt to interfere with or reverse-engineer the service.
7. No advice, no reliance
Coverwright generates security documentation from your answers. It's your document, describing your business. We don't provide legal, insurance, compliance, or professional security advice, and no advisory or fiduciary relationship is created. Decisions made by third parties — including whether an insurer offers or honours cover, or whether a client accepts your documentation — are theirs alone, and we make no promise about their outcome. This includes a denied insurance claim, a rejected application, or a failed client review: those are decisions made by the insurer or client, outside our control.
8. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the service or your documents is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. General
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Entire agreement. These terms (with the privacy and refund policies) are the whole agreement between us, except for any liability that can't be excluded, including for fraud.
- Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by something reasonably outside our control.
- Assignment. We may assign these terms to a successor; you may not assign them without our consent.
- Suspension. We can suspend access for a breach of acceptable use; documents you've already been given remain licensed to you under §5 regardless.
- Survival. The license grant, liability cap, and dispute terms survive after your purchase is complete.
10. Changes to these terms
The terms that apply to your purchase are the terms published at the time you buy. Changes apply only to future purchases; each version is dated and archived so we can show what you agreed to.
11. Trader details

12. Governing law and jurisdiction
